Last weekend I went to Winter Wonderlude, at the Dolce Resort in North Jersey, an event organized by my upline's upline (Tina Rosenkrans). The Dolce is a very posh venue with scrumptious food! We got acquainted with Pam Morgan, an executive from the home office of Stampin' Up! It was so great to have a Stampin' Up! representative there! She stamped with us during our "shoebox swap," demonstrated Stampin' Up!'s Simply Adorned line, and gave some inspirational talks. She really listened to us and our suggestions!
I presented a 15 min. "Workshop Wow," and I chose to focus it on distressing techniques. The camera was on our hands as we demonstrated, so people could watch on the big screen. I was a little worried about how "distressed" my hands actually look. (It's been so hard to keep them moisturized this winter.) But it was all fine:0) They fit right in with the theme of my projects.
I had so much fun out these techniques. I never thought before, that I could pull them off without the card just looking messy. Now I hope to implement this style in my stamping more! Here are two samples using Vintage Vogue, a perfect set to show vintage techniques.
Card 1 shows the Cutter Kit, a great tool for roughing up your edges. I rolled the Very Vintage wheel directly on one of the flowers from the Pretties Kit.
Card 2 shows the Cutter Kit, on Cottage Wall DSP, along with sanding blocks on the surface of the DSP, to scratch it up even more. I also made one of those paper flowers that everyone is making these days:0) You use the Eyelet Border punch on a strip of DSP, and wind it up on a circle covered in Sticky Strip. So fun and cute! I'd love to show you how to make them sometime!
