Embellished scrapbook covers

Did you know you can use decorative stencils (which Stampin' Up! now carries) to put a beautiful flower on our linen scrapbooks? These two were stencilled by Lynn Larson, a very talented stampin' sister of mine from Vermont. What a wonderful artist! Email me for details on the supplies for these projects!

By the way, I'm currently in the Caribbean finishing up a cruise with Stampin' Up!, and about to start a Puerto Rico vacation. (I scheduled this post ahead of time:0) Can't wait to show you pictures!

Pillow Box with Trendy Trees

Here's a tip for the Pillow Box die: tie a ribbon or string around it the long way to keep it shut. (Since its shape is curved, it will stay together better than it would if you were relying only on tape to keep it closed So you won't have to do any taping on the short sides, just on the one long open side).

This pillow box is the perfect size for a couple candies - easy favors! I made 75 of them for my son's Christening last year and it only took a couple hours. I have also seen some with an oval punched in the middle, to make a really cute window so you can see your candy in there!

Easy as Pie

Do you ever wonder where that expression came from? It's kind of weird, b/c pie isn't really the easiest dessert out there to make:0) Anywho, aren't these some of the easiest cards you've seen in a while? Less is more:0) I was at my downline Kristin's house last Mon. for a meeting, and I had spotted a similar layout on her project shelf which is bursting with great ideas. So I decided to tweak it a bit. It was also this month's card club card, along with the sunflower card at the very bottom. Leave a comment or email me with any questions at all on the supplies/colors.

Good things come in small packages

If you've ever gotten a box from Stampin' Up! you know that the goodies inside are packed with a long piece of brown paper. Sometimes I like to tie it around my little guy's waist, just to get a smile out of him. It's never on long, he figures his way out pretty fast and then either "helps" me unpack the box or plays with the paper. Thought I'd share a pic of this little ritual:0)

Speaking of packages, this is a cute little box we made at the shoebox swap in North Jersey. We "sueded" the flower after punching it out with the ex. large fancy flower punch. Faux sueding is a really fun technique to make aspects of your projects look aged. Click on the picture for a better view.
